ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Lewis University head men’s basketball coach Scott Trost has announced the addition of Justin Jarosz (Lockport, Ill./Lockport H.S.) for the 2008-09 season.
Jarosz, a 6-foot-6, 190-pound forward, averaged 11.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game during his senior season at Lockport High School. He posted a .478 field-goal percentage and shot better than 37 percent from beyond the arc.
Jarosz guided his team to a second consecutive Class 4A Elite Eight appearance in 2007-08. He helped the team advance to the semifinals before losing to eventual state champion Richards. The team made it to the state quarterfinals in 2006-07. Jarosz was a starter for both Elite Eight teams.
Following his senior season, Jarosz was named first team all-area by the Joliet Herald News and was an all-conference first team pick. He also earned honorable mention by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association.
“Justin is a welcome addition to our recruiting class,” said Trost. “He shoots extremely well from the perimeter for someone his size. I look forward to Justin being a productive player in the GLVC.”
Jarosz is the fifth addition to the Flyers’ 2008-09 roster. He joins guard Mike Robinson, post Marty Strus, point guard Chris McClellan and post Matt Toth.
The Flyers finished the 2007-08 season 20-11, reaching the 20-win plateau for just the 14th time in program history.
